We're a student-run movement bringing affordable education to rural India and mobilizing college campuses for causes that matter. No suits, no bureaucracy — just students getting things done.
Wake Up India Foundation was founded by students who were tired of waiting. Today we run two flagship programs — one bringing quality, affordable schooling to rural communities, and one turning college campuses into engines of charity and awareness. Every rupee, every hour, every idea comes from students like you.
Everything we do sits under one of these pillars — run entirely by students, for the communities and campuses we serve.

Learning centers, volunteer teachers, books and mid-day meals through the Gurukul School Project.

Affordable, quality education for children in rural areas who'd otherwise fall through the cracks. We partner with local communities to run learning centers, train volunteer teachers, and supply books, uniforms, and mid-day meals — keeping cost near-zero for families.
We work directly with college students to run charity drives, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns on issues that matter — mental health, sustainability, gender equity, and more.
Real reach, tracked honestly — not vanity metrics. Here's what years of student effort add up to.
Active Gurukul learning centers across rural communities.
Kids currently enrolled across our learning centers.
Student-run chapters mobilizing their own colleges.
Volunteers who've joined a drive, chapter or campaign.
"Teaching every weekend at the learning center taught me more about leadership than any classroom back on campus. Watching a kid read their first full sentence — that's what keeps me coming back."
"We started our chapter with six people in a hostel common room. A year later we'd run four drives and mobilized half our college. WUIF gave us the structure to actually make it happen."
"I joined as a first-year volunteer and it changed my career path entirely. WUIF is proof that students don't need permission to go build something that matters."
Every rupee and every hour is tracked, and every decision starts with the community we're serving — not the other way around.
Join as a student teacher, campus organizer, or event volunteer. Weekend or full-term commitments welcome.
